League-style tennis, one match at a time.
A known level, a public court, and people who already said they are coming — from Richmond out through Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, the Tri-Cities, and the outer counties. USTA keeps the official season. Lobby keeps the weeks you still want to play.
Regular competitive play
People search “Richmond tennis league” when they want a standing game and they are tired of asking around. Some want an official USTA team. Some want a level band on a public court, with a count they can see before they drive.
Lobby Tennis is that second game. The level on the strip keeps the points close. Your NTRP stays yours. We use a lobby band — Learning, Getting there, Solid, Competitive — to pair the match.
King of the court
Winners stay. The next pair walks on. Games stay short so you are playing, not standing. If a session is full, Claim this match puts you on the waitlist before you leave the house. Rules live on the session. If a park court is taken, the group moves together.
Open play
Open play is the ladder. The band is on the strip, so you can tell if the next one is yours. Play up once to see. Stay where the points are close.
Draws
A Lobby draw is short: timed matches, a bracket the day of, done before the day is gone. Rockwood and Byrd are the year-one courts with the room for one.
One claim at a time
You commit to a match: name, email, level, neighborhood. The board stays public. The claim happens after you decide to play.
Join the lobby for the note when king of the court or a draw opens in your level. The list is the newsletter. The claim is the lineup.
